Detailed Description+

The SPAN test can be used to assess verbal working memory, precisely situating respondent performance within a wide performance range.

Main areas of application: Hospitals/clinics, traffic and personnel psychology

Test forms+

Two test forms are available. Test form S1 measures verbal working memory forward, while S2 measures verbal working memory backward.

Task+

The task of the respondent consists of directly repeating a series of digits between 2 and 10 digits in length. Depending on the test form, the series of digits must be repeated forward (S1) or backward (S2).
